Air Travel Costs

I would like to know why Air Travel Tickets cost more after a period of 30 or 35 days over seas?
I would like to travel over seas for more than 30 or 35 days and find that the cost of travel is higher even though you would think they would be the same cheaper.
The question is generally true, except there are some longer-stays even on the cheapest seats to some international destinations. From US to UK, for example, 3 month, and sometimes 12 month, tickets are just as cheap as everything else (sometimes--during sales). But if US-UK tickets are not what you need, then you can often get around the 30 day limit by booking from an airfare consolidator. Ebookers and Flights have offices around the world. Some routes are going to one-way sales, if there's lots of competition (Toronto to London, NYC-Dublin, or LON-Hong Kong, for example). Post your specific itinerary, and you might get even better answers.
